upcoming workshops
We are delighted to share some upcoming stepdance workshops that we are running in communities around Scotland.
These are supported by Creative Scotland and TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland), as part of our extended 2026 tour of ‘Deiseil: Dancing in Time’.
Following lovely spring workshops in Dunoon, Easdale, Aberdeen, Aberfeldy and Garmouth & Kingston, we are back with our next workshop on 22nd August at the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles.
You can find a list of upcoming workshops across the country using the button below.
Peebles Workshop for Dancers and Musicians
This workshop combines dance and music: as a dancer you'll learn how to create rhythms with your feet, and as a musician you'll learn how to play tunes for percussive dancing.
We will focus on pulse, beat and rhythm, using tunes and steps to explore the fundamentals of music and dance. As well as separate sessions for musicians and dancers, we will spend time learning together, creating a deeper understanding of how the dance is part of the music.
A joyful exploration of how to “talk” to each other with our instruments and feet.
All levels of dancers welcome, even if you've never danced before - wear comfortable shoes, hard soles ideal.
Suitable for intermediate and upwards musicians playing fiddle or smallpipes in A - if you play another instrument, please get in touch and we will try to accommodate you.
